Saundra Johnson Austin is the Founder and President & CEO of Charis (pronounced Kare'us) Consulting Group LLC. The organization specializes in building intellectual and human capacity for education and community transformation. She has 25 years of experience in corporate America, secondary and postsecondary education, community and workforce development and non-profit organizations.

As a champion for the education of underrepresented minorities in engineering and the sciences, Saundra has published and presented papers at national conferences, Fortune 500 companies, as well as government agencies throughout the country. Also, in her quest to transform the educational and leadership landscape, she serves on numerous boards, as well as memberships with various national, regional and local organizations.

Saundra is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame's Executive MBA program during which she was awarded the Selected Professions Fellowship by the American Association of University Women. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, as well as a a life membership with the Penn State Alumni Association.

McKeesport, Pennsylvania is Saundra's hometown. She enjoys mentoring youth in the community and volunteering as a reading tutor. Rev. Clyde L. Austin, Jr. is her husband and she is a step-mom to their son, Joshua, and daughter, Charity.
